Homework Pack: Please encourage your child to complete as much of the pack as possible.

Websites: The following websites provide questions and activities to support what the children have learnt this term. You can access a limited number of questions for free each day.

Mathematics

Sumdog

Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG): A sample quiz is included in the pack to give you an idea of the type of things the children have already learnt and will be learning in the coming weeks.

Maths: Dice Multiplication and Division Game. Instructions on the sheet. You will need a die, a number line and the sheet. Please encourage your child to solve the calculations using by counting in 5s or using a number line.

Reading – Although your child has chosen two school reading books for the holidays, we recommend that you encourage your child to read a range of different texts, including non fiction. For example, magazines, ebooks, information and instructional texts will all contribute to your child’s decoding and reading comprehension skills.

Please continue to read with your child every night and please record this in your child’s Reading Record. Reading to your child is also very beneficial, even if they are accomplished readers, as this increases their vocabulary and fosters a love of reading for pleasure.

Please check the blog for regular updates, homework ideas and website links.

Thank you and a massive well done to all the children for their hard work in school and at home. Thank you so much to all parents and grandparents for working at home with your child, ensuring they are successful and confident in the classroom.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a relaxing break. See you in the New Year (Tuesday 5th Jan)
