Spellings Please support your child with their list spellings. Practising each spelling using the Look, Say, Cover, Write Check method will give your child confidence for the Spelling Quiz every Tuesday.

Reading – Please continue to read with your child every night and record this in your child’s Reading Record. Reading to your child is also very beneficial, even if they are accomplished readers, as this increases their vocabulary and fosters a love of reading for pleasure.

Road Safety Week Challenge
Mia and Alex have set the children in Watergate a challenge to complete at home, to make a lollipop that a school crossing patrol might use. You can use anything from around the house such as plastic bottles, kitchen roll holders etc. Mia and Alex will be back to judge the entries.

Design a Poster Challenge: To encourage the importance of hygiene when using the bathroom, we would like to invite your child to design a poster. Please encourage your child to include hints and tips such as ‘wash your hands’ and ‘always flush the toilet’ in their poster. The best posters will take pride of place in our communal bathrooms and will be helping all children at St Martin’s Academy- a very special task!
