'An Outstanding School' – Ofsted June 2015   Read the report here

Welcome back!

Thank you so much to all parents/ carers for working with the Year One Team, ensuring we had a successful year.

Please work with your child to complete the High Frequency Wordsearch provided.

Spellings- Your child has received a copy of their new spelling list and from now on spellings will be handed out on a Wednesday and tested the following Wednesday.

Please continue to support your child with their spelling homework by using the Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check method. Spellings include a mix of High Frequency Words, topic words and spelling patterns.

Although the Phonics Screening Check was an amazing success, please continue to encourage your child to implement the spelling strategies they have learned to segment to spell.

Reading – Please continue to read with your child every night and please may you record this in your child’s Reading Record. Reading to your child is also very beneficial, even if they are accomplished readers, as this increases their vocabulary and fosters a love of reading for pleasure.

Homework is to be handed in on Wednesday 13th Septemeber.

I look forward to seeing you at the Y2 Curriculum presentation evening on Wednesday 13th September.
