Any misconceptions will be addressed after the children complete their homework tasks. These may be done through whole class, small group or individual sessions.

Comprehension – A New Dance Craze: The Floss

If your child finds the text particularly tricky, please read it to them, and ask them to answer the questions. Being able to understand and answer the questions is the focus here.

ReadingPlease continue to read often with your child. If your child is a free reader, it is important they read a variety of text types and different authors – to continue to secure their enjoyment of reading. The children have access to a range of texts within our class library, which they are encouraged to use when changing their books. They are welcome to read a book from home within school.

Spellings - New spellings have been added to your child’s new spelling book. These will be tested on the first Thursday back to school.

Year 3 Ultimate Times Table Challenge – They have completed these during Morning Challenge, aiming to apply their table knowledge to recall each column.

Sumdog - Please encourage your child to use Sumdog at home. The children are practicing applying their multiplication skills across different elements of Mathematics. In order to secure your child’s confidence in their times tables, this game is very useful: It can be played on a computer or tablet (you don’t need to download the app), and allows the children to select the tables they want to practice.

Have a lovely half term break,

The Year 3 Team

After all the children’s hard work these last two weeks, we would like to award them a homework free weekend. There are no spellings either, which gives you opportunity to focus on reading to and with your child, maintaining a love of reading.
