'An Outstanding School' – Ofsted June 2015   Read the report here

Watergate Warriors have had a wonderful start to the new school year and are beginning to settle into their new routine.

Tuesday morning was exciting as the children discovered a mysterious egg hiding in the playground. Where did it come from? Who does it belong to? After much deliberation, the children decided chickens couldn’t lay eggs that size and concluded that it must be a dragon egg but what do you think?

Watergate investigated further and collated their evidence on a Pic Collage before writing a recount of their findings. Watergate Warriors are conscientious and are encouraged to independently check their work with a ‘fresh pair of eyes’. Therefore the children were delighted at the opportunity to wear star glasses to do just that- excellent Watergate!

In art, Watergate enjoyed getting messy. Working together, the children covered a balloon in glue and carefully wrapped sticky string around it, before leaving it to dry. Once it is dry, we will pop the balloon and be left with colour cage eggs that we look forward to hanging around our classroom.

As the week progressed the children chose their responsibilities and are learning to work together to benefit our classroom community and we are already looking forward to continuing our learning next week.

Have a restful weekend.

The Year Two Team.
