Northgate Homework: Friday, February 9th

Friday 9th February to Thursday 15th February

Any misconceptions will be addressed after the children complete their homework tasks. These may be done through whole class, small group or individual sessions.

KS2 Grammar Punctuation and Spelling – Pages 24 & 25 Prepositions.

The children have been identifying and using prepositions within their Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar sessions this week.

KS2 Problem Solving 1

Pages 22 TV Times: This requires to apply their knowledge of time, which they were developing within Maths last week. Hints: 1. The children need to identify the time shown on the clocks, then look at the TV schedule to identify which programme started at that time. This helps the children to recognise the time both on an analogue clock and 12-hour digital clock 2, 3, 4 & 5. It may help the children to write next to each programme on the schedule how long it lasted for, so they can calculate using addition to find the answers.

Page 23 TV Times: This also requires to apply their knowledge of time, which they were developing within Maths last week. Hints: 6. The children need to use the TV schedule to see which time the next programme starts. This would be the time each of the programmes finish. 8. This does not have to be a programme listed on the schedule. They may need help to find the time they start and finish.

KS2 Problem Solving 2 –

Worksheet – Grid Multiplication. I have printed a two sided sheet to complete, to ensure the homework links directly with the children’s learning this week. They should apply their multiplication and column addition skills to complete the sheet.

Sumdog - Please encourage your child to use Sumdog this week.

Spelling - Spellings were added to your child’s spelling book on Monday. These will be tested next Monday. After the half term, this will return to being on a Thursday. Thank you for understanding.

Write 2 or 3 sentences that include as many of your spelling words as possible.
