'An Outstanding School' – Ofsted June 2015   Read the report here

Wow! What an eventful week here in Newgate.

The children had an unplanned visit from the 'Lost and Found Officer' this week. She had decided that Newgate needed to organise the whole of the Lost Property Office! The children couldn’t believe the mess when they first arrived on Tuesday morning as they couldn’t even enter the classroom. The Lost and Found Officer kept sending the Newgate Team emails detailing our next tasks and we were kept very busy. On of the tasks included sorting and ordering the lost property and the children labelled and counted each item in each pile to ensure that the log was kept up to date.

Some children chose to use Pic-Collage on the iPads to create a colourful poster which included labels. It was fantastic to see the children beginning to use technology for a purpose to enhance their learning and a way to record their ideas.

The children have been busy helping the Lost and Found Officer in other ways all week. We have redesigned the Queen's crown using repeating colour patterns because she had lost some jewels from her crown. Throughout all the excitement, Newgate have produced the most outstanding work which was certainly fit for the Queen.

We hope to have just as much fun next week! Please refer to the homework blog.
