Teddy Bears' Picnic

W5 1

What a wonderful way to end this week with a teddy bears picnic.

We prepared the invitations and presented them to our Bridgegate buddies. The children then prepared some pitta pizza faces for a savoury snack. The children used different ingredients to create the shapes of the different facial features. We particularly loved the idea of cheesy hair! The Teddy Bears' picnic went really well and allowed the children spend time with each other and share a special bear from home. Newgate also shared their bear descriptive writing that they had completed during the week.

Newgate have completed their final transition day before becoming Bridgegate in a few weeks time. The children have spent time going through new routines, placing bags in different places as well as focusing on their personal aspirations for next year. We have been very proud of the maturity they have shown during these transitions and we will continue to support these routines over the last two weeks at school.  Newgate have also had the opportunity to meet their new buddies and share special moments with the new Newgate.

This week we have not only been measuring maturity but we have been measuring different animals and looking at the centimetre. The children have been measuring using a non-standard measurement with multilink as well as investigating what the exact length of an object is using a ruler. It was wonderful to see the children applying this skill to measuring different areas and blocks outside to build stages and talent show theatre boxes.

We will be visiting the ice-cream farm on Tuesday. Please ensure your child has sun cream on before coming to school. We are really looking forward to the last trip of the year!
