Eastgate Homework: Friday, October 13th

Maths: Maths Workout – Page 2

English: Comprehension Y3 – Pages 20-21 or Comprehension Y4 – Pages 2-3

After our amazing ‘St Martin’s Newsround Day’ this week, the children have asked if they can write a newspaper article about what they have been up to over the weekend. They could hand write it / type it up on the computer / design on an app they may know of. It is completely up to them! This is something that should be fun and we hope they enjoy writing about their news!

Please click the following links and complete as many questions as you are able to

Maths: - Multiplication

English: - Pronoun Verb Contractions

Spellings- Spellings will be assessed on a Friday, and handed out on a Friday.

Handwriting – This will be the children’s spellings on a cursive sheet. You do not need to bring this back into school.

Times Tables – Please practise the 7 times tables with your child – look out for the pattern!

Reading: Listening to your child regularly is still a vital part of their learning journey as you can hear any misconceptions and provide lots of opportunities for comprehension by asking them about their reading, likes and dislikes, events, characters etc. Please encourage your child to read daily and complete this in their reading diary. Encourage your child to reflect on their reading and complete their book review in the free reading diary.

Your child will not be able to change their book if it has not been signed by an adult at home or they haven’t read to you at least once.  Please ensure they complete their reading diary correctly, the teaching team provide support in school but it is vital that they are given support at home with this. They should be recording the date and page numbers they have read every time they are reading, whether to themselves or someone else. They also need to complete their book review after 4 books, unfortunately they will not be able to have a new reading record until it has been completed correctly.

Please check the blog for an insight into your child’s week at school and to find out the secret word.

Thank you for your continued hard work, effort and support with your children at home.
