Fraction Action.

We have had an excellent week in Eastgate this week.

In maths, the children have started a new unit on fractions. This week the children have been learning about equivalent fractions and how to find them. They have also been looking at how to count up and down in hundredths.

During literacy lessons, the children have been completing instructional writing tasks. They have created a set of instructions for how to make a cup of tea. The children have also planned and written up instructions on how to get to ‘Candy Land’ (these were very imaginative!).

In topic, Eastgate have been looking at inventions and discoveries and how these impact on the way the world works. They also ordered the inventors on most, to least important.

Within science, they have been comparing mass with weight and have looked at the differences between these. The children carried out an experiment using scales and newton metres and recorded their results!

We hope you have a lovely weekend.
